About the Presenter:

After graduating from Monmouth University in 2017 with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work Practice with Children and Families, Sara expanded her knowledge base by focusing on childhood trauma and the impact of domestic violence on Children and Adolescents. Sara comes to us with a wide variety of expertise ranging from The NJ System of Care, PALS Creative Arts Program, Community Mental Health, Intensive Supervised Visitation Program, and Private Adoption. Sara is currently a clinician at Lighthouse Counseling & Sand Play Training Center, where she utilizes Sand Play, EMDR, Creative Arts, and mindfulness techniques to assist Children, Adolescents, and Adults through their healing process.

I combined my true passion for mental health and education by working as the Mental Health Clinician for a Title I high school. During this time, I got the opportunity to meet with students individually, advocate in IEP meetings, facilitate a mental health advocacy group, create/implement a district-wide peer mentorship program, provide families with community resources, and conduct crisis management. After four years of working in the public school system, I made the leap to private practice utilizing sand play, EMDR, and creative arts. This has allowed me the opportunity to assist children and families in navigating a wide range of diagnoses.
