Another amazing New Jersey Marathon is in the books! This year, we had more than 60 runners and volunteers join us as members of Team TSF! What a great turn out! From our cheerleaders at the finish line to our full marathon runners, everyone had a great time at the Jersey Shore!
For many girls and women, this was an opportunity to make connections and meet others affected by Turner Syndrome for the first time. We were thrilled to see new faces and long-time supporters running or walking side-by-side and enjoying the games and activities at the NJ Marathon Family Day. Creating a community is what we strive to do, and the NJ Marathon gives us a special opportunity to do that each year!
We’d like to give a special thank you to all of our team members, volunteers, and families who came out to show their support, including our event sponsors, Wawa, Jersey Mike’s Holmdel, Trader Joe’s Shrewsbury, and The Corner Café & Bistro! Your support made this event a great success!
You probably hear us talk about this event a lot, but why is it so important? The New Jersey Marathon is one of our greatest awareness events of the year. With over 10,000 race participants from all over the world, it’s an opportunity to educate people about Turner Syndrome. Many people visit our charity booth wanting to learn more and leave saying, “I think I may know someone who has Turner Syndrome.” Our bright green t-shirts can’t be missed – conversations have even started right on the racecourse!
Not from New Jersey? Did you know you could join Team TSF by participating in an event in your area! We are partnered with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, meaning you can run, walk, bike, and more for Turner Syndrome in your own backyard! Sign up for an event near you and start raising awareness today!
