The 2010 New
Jersey Festival at the Shore on May 1&2 was
a great success! There were over 40
participants on TEAM TSF and as a whole raised
over $10,000! We couldn’t have accomplished
this without the initiative of the many
volunteers, supporters, and marathon
participants. Special thanks to Donna
Villavicencio for spearheading the TSF Marathon
Fundraising Campaign!! Way to go TEAM TSF!!
Special congratulations to Alexis Capozzoli, a recent graduate from medical school. Alexis chose to celebrate this significant occasion with her friends at TSF. Team Topoleski participated in the marathon relay race, Helen Polise and Donna Villavicencio completed the half marathon, and Mary Shepherd ran the full Marathon. Way to go marathoners!! In these three days we engaged the general public to educate people about TS, handed out literature, and answered questions. We were delighted to be invited to speak at a local university and a hospital about Turner syndrome. We had a chance to greet many new families. The days were filled with camaraderie, information, sharing, and games, which made it a fun time for all. Plans are well underway for the 2011 NJ Marathon Festival at the Shore. Everyone can participate… You don’t have to be an athlete to be a part of Team TSF! |
